This 50’ rib side box car with plug door and no roofwalk is painted maroon with white herald and lettering. It was built in March 1968 and runs on Roller Bearing trucks. Constructed by the SOO LINE, they were numbered into series #17100-17498 using even numbers only. They received an ‘XL’ classification which identifies them as loader equipped with steel perforated sidewalls or interior siderails. These offered securement for certain types of lading and allowed permanent attachment of moveable bulkheads.
