Brooklyn Locomotive Works — The New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway 33' Hoppers
![]() The New York, Susquehanna and Western Railway serves New Jersey, New York and Pennsylania dating back to 1881. In recent years the Susquehanna was a big player in the intermodal freight transport business until the Conrail breakup took most of this traffic away. Freight car operations currently include the hauling of commercial waste, corn syrup and other materials. The Susquehanna used to be a coal hauler and the 33' hopper in this set depicts the paint scheme applied in 1939. Cars were decorated at Port Jervis NY by the Erie Railroad for the Susquehanna.
